    ECU uk repair

    Have a blown 259 chip.

Anyone have any contacts to diagnose and repair a vems ecu in the uk.

Paying £80 for postage everytime is getting real old, real quick.

    Thanks in advance.

Worked out nigh on 40 each way insured. Royal mail
      Will look into those.

Spoke to rob off the vems forum and he pointed me in the direction of a guy called sprocket.

Msgd him but no reply yet. His post says he will help with repairs but he's only a hobbiest so can't guarantee anything.

Have to wait and see if he can test them as well.

Holy moly just checked and they've put the prices right up to Hungary recently, last year cost about £15

Even so looking £25-30 send it out of UK but I know it cost a lot less to send from Hungary to UK

pm Pnanassy he shipped mine out and it didn't cost that much

What, VEMS ECUs break? I had the impression from another thread that they were invincible.

Can get a return flight for £90

Was considering a short holiday. but turn around would be a few days.

Id feel safer it going to manufacturer but seems crazy to spend so much money to fit a 4 euro chip.

As usual from the past few weeks, you get the wrong impressions on a few things... Probably a viral infection of some sort. Dont worry, it will pass

There is a tuner that does vems in the UK called Gunnar Reynson and he has the nickname 'gunni' on vems forum. He may be able to help. Text him on the forum!

You could try Camco in Warrington, I've found them helpful in the past.

Happens more often than you might think
Usually due to bad wiring. Factory ECU is just much more resistant to all kinds of stupidities.

                            I seriously doubt that :-p
