cam sensor problem (wiring or timing?)

Ive been chasing a fault on my s6,drives like a pig so much so i havnt used it in a couple of months only just got around to taking another look at it

    vagcom is coming up with

00515 cam sensor-fault in basic setting

this code doesnt seem to actually exist according to the rosstech website but i found a little bit of info here and there which says it is down to the timing being set wrong have also heard that it could be down to dodgy wiring to the cps.Ive checked the timing a couple of times(reset it from scratch using tdc on no1 instead of using the crank sprocket/flywheel) but still the same.Ive also changed the actual sensor at least twice to no avail.

It generally starts straight off but now and again it will take a little too long,if revved while idling it will stumble at higher revs and after a few times of blipping the throttle it will cut out.If i disconnect the cam sensor it will rev out cleanly

are there some expected values to be seen at the cam sensor connector?(had a look around but cant find anything)

only other thing i can think of is that the cam sprocket mark is out compared to the zero to zero marks on the cams,i only thought that was an rs2 thing though?

You have prob already seen this but just in case...

2113 (Blink Fault Code), 00515 VAG1551/2 Fault Code Number
    (G40) Hall sensor in distributor
(3B, early AAN engines) or camshaft position Hall Effect sensor later S4/S6 AAN engine).
Distributor alignment, faulty sender, Mis-located sensor & distributor, Cam timing possibly incorrect on AAN engine, Check lower Crankshaft Gear keyway

Sorry if I'm teaching Granny etc...

      Your timing is wrong.
Car shouldn't boost like this either.
