right im stumped, i have changed the cambelt and while i was at it i also changed the g40 cam position sensor as i thught this was the cause of the car not starting, anyway belt and sensor changed and the car wont start, just spins on the starter motor, i did a bit of fault finding as per searches on here and my findings are this
1- There is continuity between all three wires of the G40 sensor and it is wired up correctly, this sensor is a new one that i brought of here
2- checked both the g4 and g28 crank and speed sensors, between pins 1 and 2 on both resistance was 988 ohms with a couple of ohms across the DVM
3) the timing on the engine looks to be spot on, if it is out it is only going to be one tooth out can this cause the engine not to fire? i dont think there is any issues with compression either as the car was fine on its last journey up until the last 2 miles where it wouldnt get past mechanical boost, making me assume that the sensors were making the engine retard the timing to compensate for the naffed sensor
anyway im stumped could it be that the pin on the flywheel has decided to part company and go on its own little journey? and if so how difficult is it to change the flywheel if it is this?
cheers
