Hey folks,
Gota strange issue at the moment if you could possibly help.
The Red oil light comes on at just over 2000rpm on my A80Q 2.8V6.
The engine had a top end rebuild about 3 months ago and was done properly so no blockages etc.
Oil level is just below Max mark.
I checked the breather pipes and they are clean as a whistle so I don't think the pressure has risen enough to cause oil to flow up through to them.
If I drive really gently and changing up through the gears at around 2000rpm then light doesn't come on no matter how fast I go...but eventually (in 5th) to go even faster you gota go above 2000rpm....then light comes on...and beeps at me.....but does go out when dropping below 2000rpm.
Engine still pulls really well. There's no difference between power since I've had it.....to be fair this car has surpised me as most people say these engines arn't high revving....well I think this was has identity issues.

There's No leaks anywhere.
Just after doing the top end rebuild I did a 200mile round trip to cornwall and back without issues.....but then she got laid up for about two months. The first drive after that the light came on at said Rev.....
Is that light for pressure or temp or both...although this engine has never had tempreture problems....and always stays just under the 90C mark on the gauge.
Sorry for the the long winded explaination...
Hope you can help.
Regards
Jay
