I am currently rebuilding an engine and today I have been cleaning various parts. Now my questian is as my wife is away at the moment, what parts can I put in the dishwasher.the items I want to clean are the samco hoses, the inlet manifold and induction pipe, sump, sump pickup, splash guard, engine mountings, etc. the things I am unsure of are the oil pump and crank oil seal housings.
Any advise needs to be quick as she is back tomorrow.
I'd put aluminium castings and Samco hoses in the dishwasher - inlet manifold, sump etc. - I wouldn't put any steel items or any precision parts like oil pump, bearing caps etc.
Dishwasher powder is pretty agressive and alkaline.
Can leave oilly stains and a smell behind so I hope you don't get caught
LoL, this was funny. Good luck, hope you made it alive.
