hello dudes !
my car has started making strange noises !

But no difference in driving/performance !?!

started yesterday morning driving on the motorway i put my foot to the floor when full boost is reached i get a whoosing/air sound from around left hand side of the engine it sounds like there is a hole in the intercooler or something ?

i tried it off the motorway in every gear as soon as full boost is reached ........ wohhhhhoooosssssssshhhh ! sounds like a big air leak yea ?

now for the strange bit perfomance is just as good as always still getting 21 psi of boost etc ! but the dv sounds like a rally car group A type, you know the ones which chirp through the gears ?

where should i start looking ? i have checked pipes around ecu, inlet pipes were taken off all look good, dv seals are ok.

help please guys !

Sounds like a hole in the DV,,, space very tight down the back of the headlight,,,have heard it can rub through the plastic.

I would check the three vacume pipes at the rear of the Inlet Manifold, when the one fromt he DV on my came off i had that Group A rally Car sound too!

Sounds like my car - I've testing everything and replaced ALL the hoses. Next for me is an EM as I can only think mine is cracked and it lets boost out when it's at full pressure. Mine is about 0.1 bar down on what it should be.

My car was making full boost (2bar) with a nasty leak from one of the small vac hoses.
Goes to show that boost leaks do not necessarily result in low boost pressures being attained..

Could be worth checking mine out throughly for boost leaks, could have one on mine :S

Not again! Its starting to be like Toms! Im glad all mine are now sorted, even if i cant use full throttle!

yeah I know, looks like the curse has been passed on. Will see if i can find anything obivous that doesnt look right, hopefully all is in all order and it just needs a little treatment.
