audi s2 coupe wont start HELP Please

hello
i own a red audi s2 coupe non turbo
i was driving to work the other morning when i hit a deer at aroung 55mph there was small damage to the front of the car eg bumber,headlight and bonnet but it was running fine i parked the car which was then left for around 18 hours when i returned to the car,i turned the key to find that the car will not start, everything lights up but it wont turn over.

if anyone has any suggestions on what could be the problem please tell me as the car is my daily driver and without it i have no car.

If the starter is not spinning the engine and therefore the engine is not starting, some starter cable has been shorted out OR has come loose.

If the starter spins the engine but the engine does not start, it is likely the G40 cam sensor (assuming your car is an ABY). The ECU needs good cam and crank position sender inputs before it will fire the injectors and the coils in the correct timing sequence.

Did the alternator belt snap because of the impact? Is the battery flat?

You haven't given us ANY feed back as to what you have checked. Re-reading your original post, I have to say my G40 cam sensor (assuming you have an ABY 20vt S2) is most likely. The cam sensor is behind the exhaust cam sprocket and the connection is at the front of the fuel rail. A fail G40 or the connection won't stop a running engine BUT when you go to start the car again, it will NEVER START until you fix/replace the G40.
