Turbo Inlet RS2 Hybrid.. restriction ?

In process of piping my intake from turbo to MAF and planning on using this pipe.

Finished item will be cut shorter after the bend and taper to 80mm Dia to the MAF.

Smallest diameter matches the RS2 intake.

Any views or comments if this will be an issue on restriction ?

Manifold i bought on ebay, if you're considering one make sure its not a chinese manufactured one as hear they're weak and tend to crack.

There's always a trade-off between what's best and what you have space for. As long as it's no smaller than the inlet to the turbo and the taper is smooth to 80mm, like a Samco hose for example, and the section of smaller hose is minimal, IMO you'll be fine. The tubular EM is what's killing you there; a Wagner Evo would provide a lot more space for proper intake plumbing with cold air feed etc. You'll also need to make space for a brace to go from the turbo to the rocker cover, to prevent the EM from being overly stressed.

You should brace the turbo on a such manifold...

I'm going to brace the Turbo, rear of the headlight seems to be the main issue with room. Guess there's not much that can be done with it !

                So who makes the manifold?

Your be better off mitering the inlet path of the turbo through the inner wing.

As for bracing the manifold yes of course you should but also make sure the engine mounts are good and the exhaust does not hang off the turbo.

Anyone else using these manifolds? Would be interesting to see what people have done!

There all chinese, i am 98% sure.

You need to cut the flange to allow for the manifold flange to expand and contract or your damage the head studs and anything else it wants to.

Of course this is only my opinion.

Very similar by the looks of it, but a few additional pieces & welds on the one shown on the BAE website.

Yep, Chinese made for sure. Why would they make 99% chinese look like in USA?

I'll do some investigation and find out and ask the correct Engineers at work.

I know you get casting growth with exhaust manifolds due to the level of Nickel content, but not sure how a stainless steel flange would be effected.

Posted another topic to find out how many people are using these manifolds.
