Can the pink thing (relay? diode?) in the upper left corner of this diagram, aka "C347", be easily replaced or is it a proprietary Bosch item? Case in point, owner failed to clear the cowl drain on a C4 UrS4 and the ECU got wet. It was dried out and worked for a month and then stopped working. When the ECU was opened again and checked the C347 looked a bit "fried". If it can be replaced, it might save complete replacement of the ECU

Its just a big capacitor... I can look to see what replacements are available.Paul Nugent

The big pink cap is actually C300 - its purpose is to stabilise the 12v supply into the 5V reference chip. The markings on the cap don't make it easy to decipher the component value but the '1M100' makes me think its a 1microfarad value - which smells right for a beefy looking chap doing that job.
I have some polyester 1uF caps in the spares box here - Maplin BX82 - they look about right but I haven't checked that the hole spacing is perfect.Paul Nugent

I would read 1M100 as 1 pF with working voltage 100V and a tolerance of ±20%. I could be wrong of course.
edit: Well, it looks to be a polyester type so it won't be a small as 1 pF. 1uF is probably most likely as Paul says. M must be used as a muliplier of 10^6 in this case.Last edited by Nuvo; 23 June 2011, 16:19.
