    fault code 2341...advice needed

    Hi guys..

Just put my Aby coupe back on the road after a winter (or two) in the workshop.
Car stalled today and was really struggling to idle, kept bouncing between about 300 and 1200rpm. Popped the hood and there was a distinct sound coming from the dv area...pulled the codes and got 2341, intake air leak after MAF. Could my Forge 006 piston be sticking on tick over....? If so would this give this code and symptoms?
After 5 mins it was fine, started it up and drove home.

Any light you could shed on this would be great.

    Cheers

    James

Black smoke was because you are running rich because the amount of air that went through the MAF did not arrive at the engine and although the ECU via the O2 Lambda sensor tried to dial back the fuel, it ran out of adaptation room.

You need to check all your hoses, from the MAF to the throttle body for clamp tightness, rips and tears. You have an air leak.

        Thanks for the reply...

All hoses are leak free...pressure tested everything at the weekend.
Could the Forge Piston DV be playing up...It sounded exactly the same as it does when you lift off at WOT even though it was only at idle...

        Cheers

Replace Forge with OE 710N and see if your problems go away.

Will try an OE DV and see if its makes any difference.

            Thanks
