    Oil Pressure sender wiring

    I've been trawling through schematics to find the answer to no avail:

    On the 0.3bar pressure sensor / gauge sender (the fat one) there are two terminals: one marked (G) to the gauge and one marked (WK). The two wires are black/white and blue. I have put G=Blue and WK=Black/White. Is this correct?

    And while I'm at it... does it matter which way round the 2 wires to the F98 thermal switch go around? I'm assuming no.

    Cheers.

      That's the one... from memory that's the same way I have them but I'll check when I get home. I'm want to ensure that one is the right way round so I get a gauge reading on my first start-up for oil pressure. I will have a heart attack if it stays at zero and don't want any false alarm

        @Ross - you looking in the wrong place dude - LOL - all relevant schematics on S2central.net but to cut to the chase... I have a paper one under my eyes right now...

        G = pressure sender for the gauge = sw/ws = black/white
        WK = 0.3bar switch for autocheck = bl/sw = blue/black

        F98 is just a plain switch - duzznt matter which way the two wires attach to it

          Im sure you can check it (kind of) without running the engine. If the wires are on the right way round when you turn the ignition on the needle on the gauge will rise to its zero position, if they are the wrong way round i think it will go all the way over to full pressure. Hope that helps.

            Forgot to post schematic link --->

            Its dated from Oct 1992 onwards for Audi S2 Avant but *should* be identical to an RS2 of any age.

              Ah. Then I do have them the wrong way round... thanks Paul, must have looked at every schematic on s2central - except that one

                If its the wrong way round it reads max pressure with ignition on.
