    Oil burning - AAN engine

    Hi folks,

just joined up and looking for some advice....

I've a 94 early Ur-S6 with 185k on the clock, which is burning oil. I'm getting blue smoke when the car is left idling for a while when engine is hot, but it seems to lessen when the car's being driven - it does increase noticeably when you accelerate moderately hard.

am i looking at major surgery?

any advice would be much appreciated.

Start first with the turbo rebuild.....
Also you might check MAF wire is it disheveled or torn.... ( but 90% of the cases smoke is from the turbo)

If this does not help maybe is time for engine rebuild...

my bet is your turbo seals.if you have worn rings, your car will smoke out all the times.
BTDT a lot times. do compression test is also a good time to check your motor health.

        Welcome along 8valve.

Aside from the suggestions above I was told that the valve stem seals on the exhaust side wear quicker than the intake side. That could give varying smokey results.
