    Disabling WGFV ?

Times aren't as good as they used to be, so I'm thinking about converting my URS6 to LPG. To make it simpler, my idea is to "disconect" WGFV while driving on LPG, so car would only make 0.4bar mechanical boost. I'm sure LPG CPU have possibility to trigger something when switching LPG ON/OFF, but how could I disable WGFV during LPG session ?

    Thank you,
    Mario

Remove the power connector from it. Takes 2 seconds.

Sell your car if you going to cut its b@lls off like that.

However, if you *really* want to drive a heavy slug with only 0.4 bar of boost, just pull the electrical connector plug on the WGFV. Done.

Very bad idea to run FI engine on LPG without remap.
After max 100 000km your cylinder head will be waste material.

Could you set up switchable maps - one for petrol, one for LPG?

I'm assuming it'd be fine on LPG if running a proper map for it.

I guess I didn't make myself clear enough: LPG have option to switch on/off during drive. Therefore, I'm looking into switching WGFV on/off during drive too, possibly triggered by LPG ECU.
For cruising, 150HP (or so) car makes with WGFV off is quite enough for me. Full power can be restored with one press of the button (switching back to gasoline).
LPG installation have it's own map, it's not running on gasoline map.
Whole idea behind this topic is to make conversion easier/cheaper, because LPG-ing 5-cylinder and 270+ HP engine require more specialised LPG hardware. However, I have never heard of proper I5-20V-T engine LPG conversion beeing done here in Croatia, even with this specialised parts.
Switchable maps will be my route if I decide to use my RS2 parts on this car, too.

And I think you don't understand that running a FI engine like this you will have burned out valves and a wasted cylinder head, because LPG needs tonnes more advance.

I believe LPG people have the solution for that. They have done tons of turbo engines, 1.8T is particulary popular.

1.8T head after it was done by "LPG people":

The issue is that you need to advance timing a lot on LPG on these engines (and other FI) to get them to make power and prevent them from running crazy EGT's.

No piggyback can advance timing - only retard it.

OK, then let's conclude that I'm moving in the right direction by making it (almost) non-FI.

Not really, because timing is still a lot lower than on N/A engine.
Whatever. Correct way to do it is to remap the ECU and have it switchable between two maps, then have the LPG controller switch it.
But considering you want to turn N75 off, I am quite sure you don't want to do it the correct way.

So, you are saying all FI LPG cars out there are on their way to quick self destruction, since I'm sure almost none have remaped original ECU ?

You are wrong. I want to do it optimal way, and I'm ready to make a few compromises.

Don't know about "all", but fitting LPG without proper remapping on most FI engines is a very bad idea.
The question is also about what "quick" means to you - is 75 000km quick? Or perhaps 150 000km?

The only correct way to do with stock ECU is as I said - two switchable maps in ECU, switched by LPG controller.
Or you can get a standalone aftermarket ECU with map switching feature.
