    Recoring Intercoolers.

    Hello!,

Has anyone had experience of recoring an intercooler. Have an RS2 intercooler gathering dust that needs a new core. Someone has already had an attempt at welding it up, unsucessfully. I've had a quick look around and it doesn't seem to be a popular core size. Might as well try to make it servicable. An intercooler that don't hold air ain't much good!
    Cheers!

      Tom,

Good question. I'll get the tape measure out. Expect its some fiendish metric size.

            Right,

I make it as follows: W500mmXH190mmXD63mm.
That is the actual core dimension. The depth measurement might need revision as the flange of the core is obviously wider were it meets the end tanks. Difficult to measure accurately but slightly under 9mm each side. Perhaps it should measure a total of 80mm and thats why I'm having difficulty sourcing the core. Doh!

I'm in Wiltshire but looking for reputable repairer. Not sure whether there is an upgrade available. Steve H tried to bore me once about different core constructions!
