    The Barometric Sensor

...seems to be missing. Does anyone know if ALL S2's had one? Its in my urq now, but everything was transplanted from a 1991 3B S2. I haven't got any unused plugs hanging around.

There are some unused pins on the ECU though (9. 20. 21. 33. 42. 43. 50 and 51). Don't know if that's relevant. What are the colours of the the wires for this sensor? Do they ALL lead to the ECU?

    Cheers.

It will be a 3 pin plug the same style as the N75 plug. It will be in the same area as your ECU. As there was no sensor to plug on to it, it will be neatly zip tied up somewhere near where the main loom comes through your bulkhead

Sorry for delay on this one...

Barometric sensor, F96 - wire colours on MY91 3B loom as follows:

        1 - brown (0V)
        2 - grey (signal)
        3 - red/black (5V supply)

It is definitely a 3-pin JPT connector fitment to the sensor. You can cut a plug from any other old / damaged loom and splice the wires in neatly to your loom. The JPT bodies are usuallly stamped with pin numbers. The other alternative is to go shopping at somewhere like www.polevolt.co.uk but you will need a JPT crimp tool etc which kind of skews the price for you.

Oh and BTW - I checked the books - my memory was correct... ECU substitution function for a missing F96 is to assume altitude of 13,124 feet and reduce boost pressure accordingly... that is the safest thing it can do.

While I have the books here wrt pins 9. 20. 21. 33. 42. 43. 50 and 51 - they are all supposed to be blank / open on the 3B.
