    silicone coolant waterhouses.. problem...

    Hey guys,

i bought a year a ago a set of silicone coolant waterhoses for my S2 ABY at 034efi.

when the package arrived i suddenly had to see that the "direct-fit to aby and adu cars"-sentence isn´t really correct, cause they made S2 3b hoses. not even the heater core set fits without problems cause the diameter of the plastic-line out of the block is to big for the hoses. After trying an older metal-line from older engines (ng for example modelyear 88 ) i saw that at least the heater core set works on my car. No matter if i´m going to run with the metal-flange in the block or with the plastik one.

thus i bought another set silicone waterhoses from germany, gtm. And well, they worked perfectly.

Using the MTM/Wagner short inlet manifold means to run with another hose to the auxiliary water cooler.

So as you see it´s a little bit crazy combined stuff from 3 companys.

To cap it all there are still 2 hoses missing. The two hoses from the water-reservoir to the main-cooler.

Is there any company in .uk which offers the 2 hoses?? i´d need them in black.

I´d also really like to have the RS2 one which goes directly to the thermostat-housing, but i´d also take the aby-version from the reservoir to the main-cooler.

Is there anybody out there who knows help??

For more infos there are some pics.

that RS2 ADU water hose that is the long one going from the coolant tank to the block is the only one that no silicone hose company has ever made. ABY has a difference in that with a hose going down to the radiator and a smaller hose going connecting the 2 edges at the block

If you have a chance of getting one of the silicone hose manufacturers to make that hose, i am willing to buy one as i need one as well!

    the hose i am referring to is : 8A0 121 109B

I have never yet heard a plausible explanation why Audi / Porsche changed the ABY hose layout on the ADU for that oddball hose on the RS2. They must have had some reason to change it.

The ABY ones work just fine on the RS2 of course. BTDT many times with Samco water kits on RS2.

The Samco water kit is generic for 3B, ABY & RS2... the only other thing of note is that climate control equipped LHD cars have an extra water temp sensor in one of the matrix hoses where a cut out section and link hose is needed for a good solution.

I have never seen water hoses from 034EFi though so cannot comment on them at all.

There is another Samco group buy kicking off soon if that is of interest.

Paul, if Wolfgang sends this hose to you, would it be able to be manufactured by samco nonetheless?

Depends if they stiff me with tooling costs or not... That will make it unviable unless RS2 owners want to spend a silly amount per hose. I can only ask though.

i see. Let us know what the costs would be, as it would be a nice hose to have. Obviously since the other hoses are already made for the ABY, unless there is a good enough reason for cars to have this one instead of the original ABY ones, it would be cost effective. Then again, there is no way of knowing what the difference is, so its a difficult one.

I have kept my old samco hose from the ABY set as a spare, and still use that OEM hose, as i thought it would be best to keep it that way.

thanks guys. Now i know what´s on with that silicone-water-hoses-rubbish.

of course i can send that hose if you like to have it. another way would be to ask Mr. Wagner... He is also doing some silicone hoses... Wouldn´t be from Samco directly then but i don´t give a phuck what name is on there. I´m going to ask him tomorrow whether this is possible or not and of course what´s the price for that...

Why they´ve changed it... i think we´ll never now but i agree with you that there were good reasons for that for sure...

              PS:@audi80avant

to be honest i´d like to have your spare hose for aby cars... this would be a great progress for me... The other small hose (reservoir to top of the cooler) is available in .uk?? if i could only get those two damn hoses...

              best regards!

I know that you need it fast, but i keep it as a spare.

there is sfs hoses and roose hoses in the UK that can also take up the task of making that hose for us. If you can get them to make the original one, i can send you the other as a replacement and once the original one is made, i can keep that as an exhange.

Someone send me the funky RS2 hose and I will see what Samco can do with it and I'll get a ball park price.

Does that mean I'm going to have to chop my Samco hose when it arrives (as I have an LHD with CC)?
