cheers for the info regarding the car's history...i totally agree that it was a nasty mess when we dragged it from Pete's car....but i suspect something untoward has occured in the cars life and that neither of us would have known about.
It is another case of you pays your money you takes your chance for both of us....and luckily i will dress this lump as the parts are out...
to put things into context my mate had a ktm trails bike that ran sweet as a nut for him, he sold it as a good 'un only to find out the guy who brought it stripped the engine to discover the crank and conrod had been araldited together in it's previous life....something my mate new nothing about!!...
