    temp problems on instrument cluster

    The car is a 2.5 5cyl tdi 1997.

I have noticed that the coolant temp gauge moves about a bit. Sometimes sits at 90 then can see it drop off to 60.

    Any ideas???

The other problem is getting the outside temp part to light up.
Is it just a bulb that needs replaced.

And finally the read out for the outside temp is out a fair bit.

    Where is this located?

    Thanks in advance

It does sit about the 60 mark. Never goes past 90. Interesting out a good bit.

            Ok will check stat.

What side is the outside temp sensor. Reads mid 40's must be near the radiator. Undertray off when next off.

            Best place for a therostat?
