it could be a problem.. the valve on oil filter holder..
someting is wrong with oil flow on that car.. coolant are definetly NOT the problem .

I have the same engine for 6 years ,and only one time I saw 130c on oil tem. gauge..

it was a very fast ride . betwen 160km/h and 240km/h.. than in one moment I saw 130c.
    but on idle????
my friend .. now when you look all water pipes.. now you have to look all OIL pipes. and you will find the problem..

well, normally my oil temp is staying between 90-95C.I did the experiment on the pictures and videos.I revved the engine up around 4K RPM for almost half an hour while the car being stationary which means there's no airflow through the oil cooler(no heat exchanges between the oil cooler).I have seen
the oil temp raised up to 130C while i was driving the car over 200km/h and cruising that speed for a while.Once i let off the gas,the oil temp went down afterward.I did this experiment on a few of UrS6s and they were do the same thing.

yup,i just figured out that after i have read the Thermoswitch function from SJM's website last night so I think it's normal to see the coolant temp stays
+100C Anyway,I'm going to investigate the ground terminal under
the windshield washer reservoir for my gauge.I have also removed all
electrical parts ie,aftermarket boost gauge, turbo timer to see if these
equipment causes some short to the ground. The point is normally the VAG cars
coolant gauge always stay at the 90C mark(actual much more higher)

when it is hot, mine can go to the 90+2 marks, but if im stuck in traffic and everything. Still my oil temps get no higher than 80ish on normal driving and i have very rarely seen them go to 90!

even then, i see the dash go to 90+2 lines which is around 97C which is high for me, while VEMS ECU only sees about 86C and that is also properly calculated, which means that the dash may see the water temp at one area of the engine and ECU sees another area and you get a difference. + MFTS can become abnormal if the car is left unusued for a while.

On normal driving,my oil temp stays at the second mark of the gauge.I only see

the oil temp goes up 110-120C once I drive the car hard or cruising it at very

high speed.I think the ambient temp is the major factor why we see the

big number differences on the oil temp.normally, the ambient temp on

the midday is around 35-42C.stuck in the traffic for an hour is normal situation

in Bangkok.I can always see the oil temp above 100C in traffic.my friends' UrS6

did the same thing.Upgrading the viscous fan to the electric fan is probably

              My next nods list.
