not sure on output but im running 1.8bar redline on a stock block and head/cams with gt3071 .63, reverse wagner, IC and Rs2 EVO EM. Held back to around 1bar till 5000rpm. mainly because of surge issues.
No idea how much horsepower but at a guess I'd say around the early 400's

That sounds utterly horrible...
I've mapped plenty of 3071 0.63 and there is no need at all to hold boost back that much.
A GT30R 0.82A/R makes 2 bar at 4100 rpm on stock engine with rods and exhaust without any surge.
The surge issue is mostly when loading the engine in high gear at low revs. You need to properly map boost at 2000, 2500, 3000 RPM and not request flat 1.8 bar there with maxed WGDC, then there will be no problem with surge and it will spool nicely.
You can easily make 2 bar at 3500 without surge on stock engine.
Also, 1.8 bar to redline with 0.63 A/R housing is too much, you would gain power by running less boost and more timing.
@quattro, def. something wrong mate. I had with vems(you run vems, right?) on the 3071 without the reverse IM full boost by 3400-3500 on 4th and that was 2.1bar.
ok - ignoring what is now going over my head - my advice is this - don't exceed about 420bhp, certainly don't go over 450 - I know these guys above me are spitting 1's and o's at each other but it comes down to this my friend - I have had an AAN for 4 years (well 3 actually - but in succession) if you go any higher - its going to end in tears - push that much power and things in attachment are going to weaken and perish quickly and uncontrollably. Keep it real with a nice 420 chip and you will never look back until you start building a stroker! Be prepared to invest in a Sachs Stage II Perf clutch to be on safe side.
The reason very many of these engines blow up is just down to bad mapping.
What you definitely should /not/ do is fit "some chips" when you are running 400hp, that will end in tears.
Every car is different, so get it custom mapped, and it will be fine. There is no excuse not to these days.
the only issue i noticed with my chip was that idle - sometimes it blew smoke rings - otherwise it was fine - but don't take my word for it - ask around - best policy.
