    cross member

    hi all
I've spotted some s2's running huge Ic's and no cross member.
would that put the the chassi under stress?

I think you will find that they are all supported by a custom made tubular cross member of some kind
    Panthero Coupé quattro 20vt
    Indigo ABY coupé
    Imola B6 S4 Avant

Or a custom make box section cross member of some kind
With out that the IC would be floating and only held by the silicone couplings which is not sufficient by any means.. A cross member of some sort is essential..

it would have to have something. As bo said it would just rip the ic apart. It looks to have brackets at that point in the vid going in front of the ic.

Off topic but anyone got some hi-res shots of the car?

what I really need to know is if the croos member is a strutural part of the chassis.
would the chassis legs be ok without it?
or the only fuction is to hold the Ic?
