hey guys, ok so i fixed the problem with the car cranking like it was dieing, which was the washer that fell out between the crankpulley and the timing belt pulley, and now cranks over fast!.....so now the motor is cranking over and it wont start ( the motor is new from the bottom up new pistons rings, rods etc), and i just checked it has fuel, the injectors are getting power, there is spark, there is good compression, yet the motor keeps turning over, now i need some help from the experts or people that have been there!, what to look for next or what could be the possible causes of not starting? any tips or advice would be great, thanks in advance guys
need help starting motor..?

I wonder if that washer falling out could have something to do with it. Hmmm... I am very sure that the Audi engineers intended that no washers fall out when they designed the engine. Maybe you should figure out what is wrong there?
Also, testing for power at the injectors does not mean that the injectors are going to be activated by the ECU. The ECU activates the injectors by sending them to ground, through the ECU and its external grounds. It will only do this IF it has good signals from the cam position sensor, the crank position sensor and the engine speed sensor. It is very possible that you do not have the proper crank position pin on the flywheel. This prevents the ECU from deciding when to fire the injectors. Follow the link under the photo:

I'd have to say, if there's air + fuel going in, making compression, and spark, then you're going to at least get it firing up even if it then dies immediately... so something there is letting you down... as above, pretty easy to tell if there's compression and a spark (poss not in the correct order though), so it's most likely fuel. Do you get a strong smell of fuel when you've been cranking it to no avail?
Best give Paul's non-starter thread a read through and start checking those sensors.AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994

It just spins on the starter... And i have a strong fuel smell inside of the car, but when i pull the plugs doesn't there not even wet, and i had the flywheel i'n last year and it ran fine so i don't think it's the flywheels pin for timing. I'm goin to check the pos later on and possibly take apart the cam shaft pulley and see i'f that sensor i's i'n tact, any help from what i just said guys?Comment

So if the plugs are not even wet you don't have fuel.... and you probably have no spark either. Pull codes from ecu.Comment

I pulled the linę at the end of the fuel rail and fuel i's coming out, there might be a problem with the fuel getting from the injectors to the cylinders, and shows spark once i took the coil packs out and grounded the spark plug to the motor, and suggestions with the fuel getting into the injectors i'f this i's te case, and i had a question about that can i still pull codes even though I'm rubbing a vems unit? if your running vems then you need to run a data log and see what signals you have, i had a similar problem my cam sensor was fooked, i need two signals, one from the crank, one from the cam to create an rpm signal to fire the injectors.
if you have no rpm signal remove your starter or crank sensors and see if you still have the crank trigger.
when my crank sensor triggers on cranking my fuel pump primes but depends how your ecu is programed. i changed mine so that it doesnt fire the coils below 150rpm due to a firmware error i had
