    Quick Spool Valve

First off we'd like to thank the following people for their input/help so far: Marc Swanson, Dave Jones, 034, Eurospec (see post), Eric@Competition, and Mike in Buffalo I'll be adding more to this later (with pictures of progress and more deets), but for now a quick history: My dad has owned...

Came across something called the quick spool valve, seems like a4kquattro has tuned a stroker with it on.

got to say i'm highly sceptical of the claims without more backup evidence, anyone else got any experience?

i had been looking at these a long time ago, when using the holset, but i couldnt figure out how they would work on a T3 manifold.
could there be a problem with the cylinders that get more blocked in regards to EGTs?

They get nice results with them. You need a single scroll manifold (so it doesn't take into account the cylinder number odd or not) and a twin scroll turbine housing. Something like a primitive VGT.
        Go Holset or Go RS4

Almost all hx35 and hx40 housings are t3 flanged. The same is with most garrett turbos and the k27 and bigger.

                  ?

Correction: for most journal bearing turbos. In the meanwhile also for some ballbearing (for dual scroll manifold).

I looked at this but I believe that it makes sense in really big turbos and not for gt30r ect where you can find many housing options and are relatively easy to spool.

Most people use them with T4 manifold and gt40 region turbos.
Some of them request t6 flange for even bigger ones.

He says it's bad for non-divided exhaust housings... I was in that car that Marc tuned... it is a stroker build and spools similar to a 30R but with more/flatter torque(possibly a function of 2.5l)... that car has soo much potential...

It's not good on a non twin scroll housings. This is only a divided housing thing. Not shure if a diesel VGT/VNT turbo would last long on a gasoline engine so maybe that's is not the best idea either.

It depends on how the VGT works. Garrett and 3K VGT have many moving parts that can clog or seize when temps are rising. The HOlset VGT has actually one hughe moving part out of Inconel that seems to holding up good on the gasoline apps where people used it.

I only had it on for 6000km with no issues regarding this.
