Dmitri, I think that's the real answer to this. In the mean time the ECP S2 MAF trade-in with discount at £160 seems the best bet. Sign me up for one when the plug' n play solution is ready... think i just need an adapter to fit the Samco intake hose right?
New RS2 MAF - where to buy?

I would counter that and say is it truly a viable global answer because only one person can provide the large maf as the code is not open source is that realistic for every i5 engine owner? of course the other solution is aftermarket ecu replacement
If mafs do go nla then there are some tough times ahead considering the fragile nature of themComment

Well, considering the RS2 MAF already is NLA, confirmed with Bosch this morning, I think it's already happening... perhaps I should clarify: It's the real answer for me
each to their own I guess.

Agreed, perhaps it's time for an S2 forum convoy to the Bosch HQ via the nurburgring! It really pissed me off to be told that tbh, not lease because I wanted to find somewhere I could get a MAF from this weekend, I want to feel the full force of 1.6bar at 7,000rpm again

I would sell a MAF that bolts straight on, plus a small electrical adapter.I would counter that and say is it truly a viable global answer because only one person can provide the large maf as the code is not open source is that realistic for every i5 engine owner? of course the other solution is aftermarket ecu replacement

No code changes would be needed to the ECU.
Stop spreading FUD.
So yeah, if really the MAF's go fully NLA, there will be a such solution.
Only other solution, is you all pack up and break your cars when the MAF goes or fit a standalone ECU and spend ages mapping it (or paying someone) to map it.Comment

if the MAF is actually NLA then try this email:
sebastian.funk@audi.de
This the contact i have for the auditradition shop in Germany, and so far any part i have asked that looked like NLA and actually wasnt, he was able to confirm. On top of that, if it is actually NLA, then as this is the audi tradition shop, it may become available again through there.Comment

How am I spreading fud you div, can you open supply MAFS at the same volume and availability like Audi, Bosch, TPS, Eurocarparts worldwide? Like I said your one person but obviously your the messiah of the MAF, you so remind me of Corey............I would sell a MAF that bolts straight on, plus a small electrical adapter.

A80avants post is the best one to see if this part truly is NLAComment

Surely there is no way more sure than going to source like I did, Bosch made the bloody part and told me they no longer do! Doesn't matte rwhat audi tradition say really.
Audi still have them available but I suspect next time they try and order one that triggers a request to order from the manufacturer, it will come back as NLA... ask Ben about that fun and games with Audi's ordering system.
PS I have emailed the fella to let him know and will update when I get a reply.AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994

I'm writing up my "We want MAFs" board and getting ready to go and petition... I really didn't think getting an RS2 MAF from a non-dealer source would be so hard. Of course, if the dealer didn't charge such an insane price I'd get it from then!AUDI - saving Dad's from minivans since 1994
