    Removing Dump Valve

I'm looking at removing the dump valve on my car as i'm sure its doing no good and I don't like the sound. Should I replace it with a diverter valve? Did these engines come with one originally? If so will a Forge 007 fit?

Bosch 710N is the usual replacement as they're cheap and work well on stock or chipped cars. Forge 006 or 007 is more robust and I use a 007 on my car with no issues.

Ok great thanks. One problem though. Looking closer at it there may be a problem. I have a Samco hose which has one part coming off where the current dump valve is but no pipework for where the other part of a diverter valve would connect to. Where should the recirculation pipe go to?

Thanks for the link it makes more sense now. It seems my dump valve is installed on the pipe coming down from the MAF rather then the pipe upto the inlet manifold. Behind the hoses I can see 2 original black hoses where there is a piece of metal joining the 2. Could this be where the dv should be? There is also the same sort of pipe blocked with metal going into the head at the front of the engine.

If its installed on the maf hose its not doing much and the noise your hearing is compressor stall. The maf hose doesn't get pressurerised so the dump valve wouldn't be operating at all. Are you sure its not on the hose going from the turbo to the intercooler? The pipe that is blocked off is prob the breather return coming out of the side of the head, thats suposed to be connected to the maf hose too, but dont re connect it until you have check the PCV system as it may be blocked off for a reason...

                    Can you post some pics?

Ahh, the joys of buying an S2..

Ignore the aftermarket N75 valve bo provided, but this pic will give you an idea how the forge 007 fits into the system -

I will get a few pictures and post them up. Just to make it clear it'd not on the pipe from the airfilter to the MAF it's the pipe from the MAF down. I know it's not compressor stall. The pipework on this car does look different to other pictures I have seen.

It will be compressor stall if it is where you say it is as it can't dump the pressure !

It does not sound like compressor stall at all. Maybe these pics will help

This is the pipe where it is located

Here is where it is further down the pipe

This is the piece of metal blocking 2 pipes

I could be totally wrong but It really sounds nothing like compressor stall.
