Looking for S2/RS2 Thermo Fuse info

Recently there have been issues with UrS4s having engine stoppages due to failing thermo fuses. These thermo fuses control critical current flows, e.g. power to the ignition coils. The UrS6s seem to have come from the factory with normal spade fuses instead of the thermo fuses and don't seem to have the same problems. I have used Bentley to figure out which of these thermo fuse does what for the UrS4 (and the corresponding UrS6 spade fuses):
    The Audi Enthusiast website. Forums for all Audis including A4, S4, A5, S5, A6, S6, allroad, A8, S8, TT, R8, Q5, Q7, 4000, 100, 200, v6, v8, vintage, local forums

I would like add S2/RS2 info to that post, preferably with photos. So far, I *think* I have it figured that the S2/RS2 equivalents of the UrS4 fuses are S27 = S26, S28 = S72 and S32 = S64. I don't know what the equivalent S75 (WGFV, N80, N71) fuse is for an S2/RS2. Photos and info appreciated.

UrS4 Above ECU fuse call out (see table below photo)

Should have looked harder. Found Paul N's incredibly detailed 57 page ABY/ADU wiring pdf. On page 40/57, I found that the "missing" fuse that is the equivalent to the UrS4's S75 is the S24. I was surprized to find the constant power fuse, S27 (AAN S26) is 20A for the ABY/ADU whereas it is only 5A for the AANs S26. Without a photo of the fuse box (shown schematically on Paul's pg. 43/57), I can't tell but it looks like the ABY and ADU did not get thermo fuses (the ones that look like rectangular metal cans). Is that correct or did early ABYs (93) get them and later ones didn't?

RS2 fuse box cover and label (but no interior) photos

Okay, now what I am hoping for is a photo of what is under this cover (Note the "lame" labels for fuses 27, 28 and 32 (and the strange labeling for No. 24 (Two different versions, besides))

The only thermal fuses my '96 ABY has are the ones on the auxilary panal for the electric windows.

I wouldn't want to use resettable fuses on safety critical items like the ECU unless they were aerospace quality ones.

Thanks. I don't disagree. I wonder about the early (93) ABYs and the 94 ADUs.

Okay, I got some photos from our Canadian RS2 owners, notably the Noggy blue owner. Looks like no Thermo fuses. Does raise another couple of questions though.

According to Paul N's diagrams (pg.43/57), on the row with the No. 23 through 32 fuse holders, the No. 23, 26 and 30 holder positions are empty, with No. 24 = the ISV, WGFV and Evap Control fuse, No. 25 the O2 sensor fuse, No. 27 = ECU constant 12v, No. 28 = fuel injectors and MAF and No. 32 = coils (reference: Paul's wiring pdf, Pg. 40/57)

The Noggy blue RS2 fuse box has 23 and 24 filled but 25 and 26 empty. It also has an orange cap "Motor/Moteur" over the 27 and 28 (20A and 15A) fuses. Is that common or by now have most people lost that cap?

I doubt that it is a big deal that the "24" and "25" holders have been shifted to the left by one, but is that common?

            See diagrams and photos:

So based on the lack of responses to my question, I have to assume that everyone has fuses in 23 and 24 but none in 25 and 26 (and therefore Paul N is wrong????) and that everyone has the orange "Motor/Moteur" over 27 and 28.

              Thanks.

Thank you. So yours has No. 23 and 26 empty as per Paul N's diagram. I see you also have the orange "Motor/Moteur" cover over the 27 and 28 spade fuses.

I guess the result of this is the RS2s did not get thermo fuses on any of the 4 fuses that deal with the ECU and ignition. I think the No. 23 open or not must be a quirk based on who stuffed the fuse holders in the back of the fuse box at the factory.

Any idea what that thermo fuse controls (it isn't anything ECU or ignition related). Power windows?

To be honest, at the time I made my first post I was 4,000 miles away from my car but now I'm a bit closer so here's a picture of my '96 ABY fusebox. (Not sure why fuse 19 is empty )

Thanks for the photo of your fuse box. Do you have central locking and/or heated door locks (see lowest part of the left side list)?:
