    3B dizzy hall sender plug.

Does anybody know of a bosch pn# that would fit and is available? I'm talking about out finding one to fit the 20v dizzy body the cut in the body of the dizzy is much wider than 10v dizzy which the plug is available for(pn# 1 230 329 038) The # on the 20v plug is
1 230 329 049 but searching the web turns up not.

Is there anything in this 7A/3B/early AAN Hall sender replacement pdf that helps?:

Looks like what you are looking for is Item 9 here (unfortunately not listed as a separate part):

Should be the part on the right in this photo:

THIS part are very commen on any borsch dizzy: and they are made as a female key, to fit the male wire and plug in the actually car: so you may change this( the female plug are to open, and wthdraw the 3 small wires out) so you may use the female for the dizzy, from a another audi, or use the female plug and male plug from a bmw or opel( waxhall)... i use the part from a opel 2,2liter 4pot in my distributor, but i use it for my 5 pot...

No Dave it's not the same as the hall sender in your picture way different. As wrote above I ave already found connectors that don't fit the 3B/7A distributor body. The part I'm after has a pn#1 230 329 049 so it must be available somewhere somehow. Caterpillar an opel you say is it the correct width for a 3B/7A dizzy approximately 1"? Pics for reference

I never said it was the same. I was hoping that something in that pdf would help you. Apparently not. The only thing that I was able to find from your photo is the 034905205Q 3B distributor has been superceded to 034905237BX as of 01/06/2002 (in case that helps you track down the missing part or a used/new distributor).

Is this not a 3B distributor showing the Hall sender on the right?:

          Just *trying* to help.

Have another look. I see 205Q (they would never use 205 "Oh" or 205 "zero"). Plus Kate says 205Q works for her as the old 3B distributor PN. (But hey, I could be wrong):

I will look for a Bosch catalogue with connectors but to be realistic, at this point (20 years later (from 1991)), finding what you want new is very unlikely.

Maybe it is a Q? Doesn't really matter as it has nothing to do with what I looking for. And nothing you have posted has helped me find what I'm looking for. I think finding what I'm looking for is possible did you not read I bought a connector that fit other bosch distributors namely the 10v audi distributor? So why would I not be able to find the one I need? Rebuilt distributors are sold with new plugs.

To help others help you (and to bump your question), is the part you are looking for similar to the part shown here on the left (from an Early AAN Halls sender) only for a 3B?

Possibly but it is hard to tell without it being in the body of the dizzy and or without measurement. I think I may have found another possible connector used on vw polo 1.4 and some saabs. The pn# is 1230329023 sadly it doesn't seem like I will be able to source it in the US.

Well at least there are Saabs in the US that you could chase. You might also want to check some wrecking yards for US VW distributors. Here is one from a 1985 1.8 8v engine that sort of looks about the same size (Ref: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...or-Disassembly )

I searched on the 10v plug number. As you say, a number of sites have that one, Porsche Parts, etc. I wonder whether this one (link below) might have it (looks like you might have to sign up):

                              Probably my final suggestions:

                              1. Converting an early AAN hall sender to a 3B distributor (same actual Hall Sender, different gear (but could be swapped)).

                              2. Audifans has good used 3B distributor:
