Black smoke, loss of power, loss of oil!

Today when I took my S2 3B out for a run i notived that it was running very lumnpy. There appears to be a considerable loss of power on acceleration and there is significant black smoke on hard acceleration, although there is no smoke on deceleration. I've noticed a few oil spots under the car recently and have had to top her up last week, which i have never had to do before. Can anyone offer any guidance? I'm suspecting turbo seals (due to loss of oil), or the turbo is finished. Would really appreciate any poiters. I dont intend to do any of the work myself but it always saves a bit of time at the garage if you can point them in the right direction.

    cheers

Do a compression test. Black smoke is fuel oil loss is probably co incidental. Check if you have spark on all 5 too.

Did you over rev it by any chance? I bent a valve in my 7A years ago and it produced clouds of black smoke, so bad i thought i had punched a hole in a piston. Either way compression test will find the problem.

The basic description sounds like a blown intercooler hose... Blown several on the quattros and it's black smoke all the way.... Take it for a very gentle run (off boost), if it drives normally, then very slightly up the throttle position, when it starts to 'pull' it'll probably stumble and back off with black smoke... This'll be the point where boost leaks away and unmetered mixture enters the equation... The oil 'drips' might just be from another source or, even oil build up in the intercooler etc...
