Hi all,
A quick question regarding boost.... standard 3b, no boost leaks when tested, Bailey DV30 diverter valve, K&N panel filter.
So with the engine cold from start up boost is as I would expect it to be, gets up to about 0.8 bar and holds no problems, with gear changes I can hear the diverter valve 'whoosh'.
However, once warm after about 5 mins of driving boost appears to be more sluggish with a max 0.75 achieved, and the DV noise is no longer present. This has led me to question the following:
- am I suffering from from a leak once all the pipework warms up, possibly at a connector?
- do I have a faulty DV that is remaining slightly open sometimes, it is plumbed in as per design with the boost pressure being applied to the side of the piston rather than the face of the piston.
- is this heat soak of some form and if so what's the best remedy?
Any help, advice and discussion would be appreciated, not a major issue but an annoyance none the less, considering a remap but want to sort this issue first.
Thanks,
Gareth
