Anyone recommend a good garage in the N/East?

Can anyone recommend a good, reliable mechanic from the North East with vast knowledge on the 20v T engine to rebuild my 3B motor? Being away from home is creating a problem with me gaining progress with my car. Basically I’m after a full over hall on the engine. I have a few upgrades on the shelf with a few still to buy. Ideally I’d like to have the engine fully done whilst I’m away working. But what I don’t want to face is some bloke ring me whilst away and see it needs this that and the other and put me over the barrel ready for you know what. Hope someone can help so I can step behind the driver’s seat sometime soon, because it’s starting to stress me out not listening to the wastegate. Any good points / tips for the rebuild also welcome.

S2tornado is in newcastle and he takes his car down south to tonks4x4
Girlracer was in bedlington and took it to Quattronutter aka bahnstorm
Sometimes it's better to have car remote to your location and get a good service and I would recommend either of these two for what your doing.

Yeah Tonk's is a good fella I've been to his garage once before on the way home from Devon. He's a good 2hrs away like.. it's given me food for thought Jamo cheers.

yep tonksy does any serious stuff on mine.
he's rebuilding a high power engine for vasilis at the moment and he's in newcastle.
he's a couple of hours down the road but only two miles off the M1 which makes it easier. he usually has access to quite a few spare parts and more importantly knows what they all are and what they do!!

When I lived in the North East I used Automark in Stokesley. Mark really knows his stuff with the I5 engine and there are always a good collection of high powered Audis at his premises to drool over.

He did all the work on my S2 when I upgraded the engine and was even able to find a good 7A head when it turned out my ABY head was badly cracked. I wouldn't hesitate to recomend him and my car pulls very well after his attention.

Automark would probably be your best bet unless you like travelling.

My garage is in hexham and they're called Autobahn and they have looked after my S2 for 10 years and looked after 20v quattro before that if you want details just give me a shout ok
