    ARP head studs socket size

Can someone verify if the 13mm socket is the correct size for the arp bolts?

i thought it was the 12mm but it doesnt fit, and according to ARP instructions they say 7/16inch which is equivalent to 11mm!!! so definitelly not right.

I need to return this one at halfords to recheck the torque today so i cannot check and get the car to pieces in Halfords parking, trying out the sockets! haha

if anyone remembers excactly which socket size is the correct one please post here!

    cheers

I think they are referring to bolt dia 7/16 is ~11.1mm
I would have thought 14-16 mm as a standard nut dia for 10mm is17mm and reduced size is 16 and then further reduced ( usually flanged) nut is 15 it could be less but it can't be 11 or 12 as the bolt dia is 11.
    I'm sure someone will confirm

I think it is a 1/2" multi point socket (given that they are American) just looked at mine and it appears that I bought both the 13mm and 1/2" multi point socket. The 1/2" one shows signs of use and the 13mm looks new. Not the best way of helping you! but i do think its the 1/2" one you need...

Checking the torque on the head bolts? That reminds me, I should do the same... bought a torque wrench and 1/2" regular 12-point socket with a short extension bar for this very job

Did it today yes. All ok.

However I may be having a leak from the camshaft oil seal. Looks like neither of the 2 seals from the victor reinz set worked. It's minor, but ill need to get it sorted.

So the head stud nuts was 13mm, can't remember anymore? 11mm is tight fit for the ARP rod bolts.

should be 13mm or otherwise 1/2inch.

on my tools, the 1/2 is ever so slightly smaller than a 13mm wrench, so if you have a choise of either, go for a 1/2inch one.
