In praise of Aelred Smith

I have just picked up my block from Aelred,which he has built,and had balanced for me.
I have to say that I had not met Aelred before,he came recommended to me by Jamo.
What a recommendation.From the first Aelred has been more than helpfull,and it has been a pleasure to do buisness with him.
The block has been prepped and built in a first class maner,with such attention to detail it has inspired me with confidance,apart from that the help and advise given to me by him can only come from a true enthusiast
.I had not even meet him and he had offered to lend me various bits of aquipment to help with my rebuild,along with offers of advise.on the installation,a true gentelman.
I have had the odd bitter expireance with so called experts on this forum,but not with this man.First class in every way, and I have no hessitation in reccomending him ,top bloke.

Aelred is a star only people who have had DIRECT dealings and not via 3rd parties can really judge the quality of his work and appreciate how much he does for you as a customer

Glad you've been able to post good news, as while it is the nature of the forum so that people can help others, but a lot of the posts are negative with people having problems.

And after the issues you had with your previous engine, hopefully you can experience reliable and enjoyable boost for many miles to come.

Alred left a sweet taste in my mouth when I bought a set of Konis from him a number of years ago.

I have had the 70mm TPS upgrade done. Satisfactory, although it did give me a bit of a headache with the old vems firmware to control idle. Now works brilliant!

I met Aelred a staggering 19 years ago! when purchasing parts for quattro's.

I will never forget how helpful he was. He was selling parts when Dialynx was only a mail order company and i was on the phone to him in his hotel room in Ireland as he was still in full time employment.. He has become a great friend and someone that i will know forever.... wont you Mr Smith....

He has pride and a sense of value which is very rare this day and age.... let alone a wicked sense of humour.....

All in all a top man whom i am proud to call a mate...

Oh and his engines (which this is all about) are great too...

I firmly agree with all the positive comments about Aelred. He's been very helpful to loads of forum members over the years. As Darren mentioned, he's a legend in the UR community too
