    3B cambelt tensioner

A bit of a strange question this. Could anybody tell me if the 3B cambelt tensioner has shoulders on it, or is there one available else where that does?

Cambelt tension on a 3B is controlled by the waterpump, and no, it does not have shoulders on.

Yes sorry I should have said idler pulley. So there are no pulleys available from other cars that would fit that do have shoulders? I have tried my old golf one which does have shoulders but it wont fit.

I am trying to eliminate issues with my wider 25mm cambelt wandering towards the cylinder head. Yes I have the washer in place to space it properly. At the moment I am suspecting the water pump pulley. So I had the idea of going back to a standard 19mm belt with standard water pump and idler. However I am worried the only thing that stops the belt wandering is the crank pulley and as mine is designed for a 25mm belt it might let it move far enough to come off the water pump and tensioner?

You really need to find out whats making it wonder as once its settled it should stay put, anything on any other pulley to hold it in place will slowly nor away at the edge of the belt.

I know somebody else who had a similar issue wiith the cambelt walking and it turned out the head had not been skimmed level and was sitting tilted back on the block. Knowing where you got the head from, I would hope this is not the issue in your case.
