    Normal oil pressures.

Developed low note rattle seems to be coming from the block. Going to dig out the stethoscope later to confirm

Couldn't find anything definitive in a search.
What should warm oil pressures be on a healthy s2?

Should be 2 Bar at idle, but still close to 5 Bar while under way. Cold start should be close to 5 Bar.

Depends a lot on your oil.

If you're on a "thin" oil like 0-40 then hot idle after a thrash can get down close to 1 bar.

          Hot idle 1.5 and 2000rpm 4.1bar

          Cold idle 4.8bar

All read from stock gauge so not sure how accurate that is.

Hmm....Aren't the oil pressure switches likely to trigger a low pressure warning at that low level? (The switches are 1.8 Bar for the UrS4 AAN, ABY and ADU, and 1.4 Bar for the UrS6 AAN):

Uh, no, it DEFINITELY does not trigger anything until you get well below 1 bar. BTDT.

1.5 bar sounds fine to me if it is on normal and not stupid thick oil.

2nd that, gauge sensor went faulty on my CQ and the low pressure alarm kicked in just below 1bar. I wonder if the 1.8bar and 1.4 bar are absolute pressures, as in .8 and .4 bar positive pressure.

Don't forget the 1.8 bar sensor (switch) is only "read" at and above 2000 rpm by the dashboard alarm
