Another source for fuel leaks and smell

Had previously installed my Loba 044 pump kit late at evening, and saw a little crack but didn't give it any more attention, stupid me

Just went to fill it up to the top again for the first time after the installation, and a flood of fuel came out of the tank on top when it reached max (luckily I hadn't put the cover back on)

So it doesn't always have to be the fuel lines that give a fuely smell inside
Already ordered it, but there goes my weekend trip planned for tomorrow!

I did the same thing fitting my 044 pump, the trick to avoid the problem is to lift the panel out of the tank and put a spanner on the bottom side of the metal piece when unbolting the fuel line, mistake i made was undoing it first which caused the metal piece to rotate and crack the plastic.
