Not if you've got the undertray on?

I can see how rapid speed bump surfing might be risky.

don't know about yours but my undertray is battered, I would be worried about the random brick end, rock, dog etc that you might one day encounter, with the cooler up close to the undertray it might be damaged and go unnoticed. Probably me being over zealous but it'd keep me awake at night worrying about it!

Yes, that is a possible risk factor. Especially if your car is lowered.
I drive fairly carefully, particularly over speed bumps so not too worried.

            it should be fine.
my mechanics were worried when measuring my 16row so the hoses are below and the front tow was cut to make sure that it fits well above the undertray. and it does with good space, so i doubt that the undertray will have any issues

Nice job chaps. And thanks for posting the links up for the hoses & fittings. Will use them for my Mocal on my 90 quattro.

hi all, what would be the minimum row count for an oil cooler? track days are counted in, engine currently only chipped, boosting 1bar.
should i go for the 19 row cooler, or are smaller version also considerable? like 16 or 13 rows ?
                  thanks

My 19row x 235mm kept it pretty cool on the ring, 105c ish using 10w40 oil. That's in aux rad position. I reckon 16 would do and easier to package.

willg54 getting rid of the auxiliar radiator didn't influence the water temperature?

Nope not a single problem! Sometimes in traffic it just creeps above 90. 2 laps around the ring didn't cause any problems either

That's with a new main rad and well bled system.
