    Temp sender on ABY conversion

I know a few of you out there have dropped an S2 lump into a UR chassis (as I have). Just wondered what strategy can be used to make the temperature gauge and warning light work on the ur dash.

On the UR there are 2 off single spade connectors that plug into separate senders. (one for warning light, one for gauge). on the ABY engine there is the one multi-point sender, I have tried plugging onto these pins but it obviously doesnt operate the same. I would be happy to get just the gauge working.

Any ideas.Pretty sure I cant just swap the senders as they look very different in size.

Here is some MFTS info which includes this diagram (you will have to figure out the wire colours appropriate to your UrQ): http://forums.quattroworld.com/s4s6/msgs/22584.phtml

For a 3B conversion, the MFTS needs to hooked up to both the water temp gauge AND the 3B ECU.

Thanks for the info, looking at the pin outs I dont thinks the MFTS outs are going to be compatible. I might have to think of a plan B. Maybe I can drill and tap a home for the old sensor somewhere, not sure if a thread adaptor for the the MFTS would be feasible.

" the MFTS is also connected to the ECU via pin 46 of the T55 ECU connector. Using this pin as a high temp alarm - the ECU cuts off active boost control as a safety measure. "

Would not having the MFTS hooked up to the dash/instrument cluster be a possible cause of only running on mechanical boost 0.4-0.5 bar?

Ummm....Have another look. I think that all you need to do is connect that 1/T pin to your instrument cluster/water temp gauge.
