    Need help reaching 700-750hp, AAN.

    Hey guys ive got a dead stock URS4 and am wanting to get some obscene power out of it.
    basically i want to reach around 700-750hp at the wheels while still retaining the standard 2.2L stroke. im more from a rotary background so i like to beable to rev my motors which is why i'd prefer it not to be a stroker. this will be my first venture into audi engine territory.
    what kind of upgrades would i be needing to reach my goal and still be a safe motor, not after any grenade engines. it would be used as a street car, not everyday mostly for weekend fun and would want to be revving upto 8500 max, as i want to retain the standard oil pump setup, dry sumping is abit too extreme for me.
    ive got afew questions regarding this,
    i know rods are in definate need of upgrade, but would i need to do pistons aswell? how do the stock pistons fare?
    would it be best to go for oversized valves? with higher rated springs
    would i need to change to solid lifters? or are the standard hydraulics upto the task?
    what kind of turbos would i be looking at to reach this power?
    would 7a cams do the job or would i need to go for a custom grind with higher lift?
    also fuel wise what kind of injectors would i be needing?
    i can't think of anything else right now, any help would be appreciated though!
    Cheers.

    700whp is not a safe car for every day or for weekend. On this engine it is a pure dragster.
    You will break diffs, driveshafts, gearboxes...

    P.S.
    I don't want to seem cocky, but if you need help reaching 700 whp on this motor and are asking what to use... then...
    Budget wise I see a such build costing 30-40k, maybe more.

      With that kind of power I'd add some up to the job beefy brakes and suspension to that list..

        To rev to 8500 your going to need a dry sump or a rebuilt oil pump with special coating of the gears, only terrybullwon has this mod and it is no longer available. Plus you would need solid lifters

        You would also be looking at E85, basically the only aan i've seen this done in is a stroker going to 7500 http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=45338

        It would be very EXPENSIVE to even attempt 700 whp, but if your asking about what you need to get there then you need professional help from a tuning resource rather than a forum IMO

          you need a shop familiar with building these engines.

          But hey, let's see.
          * Custom gearbox
          * Custom drivetrain
          * Full race engine build, solid lifters, pistons, rods
          * Modified oiling system
          * Custom oil pump, better dry sump.
          * GT45R sized turbo
          * 2000cc injectors
          * Enough fuel pumps, I think 2x044 will not be enough.
          * Custom fuel system

          I probably forgot something...

            Your looking aftermarket ecu as well and at those power levels a high end unit like motec / nira / tatech unless PRJ can suggest a maf solution for you I think even the RS4 maf is maxxed out at that level.

            Just buy this car for sale http://www.s2forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=53371 if you are serious about it

            Or consider an engine swap such as a twin turbo dirty V8

              Yeah of course aftermarket ECU etc. You won't spool that turbo without ALS.

                Have you ever driven with a car from ~700hp from crank?
                I personally think that this is quite easy to get and is more than enough for streets. With 700hp from crank you will smoke 95% of cars easily.
                For that you dont need to do nothing with the oil pump. You can rev it to 7500 and that is enough.
                I would go with pump gas and W/M injection rather than E85. Because if you buy E85 there is allways a change that it can be acctually E70 in the winter period.

                Using E85 you can get about 450kW from wheels max with two 044 pumps. After that power levels you need to add third pump or just need some proper fueling pump that is 500L/h or something like that.

                  E85 , is cheaper, than Pump Gas, (even with 35% procent more), also a E85 content analyzer can be wired, to see the actual alchool content.
                  My self would go to stroker for streets, especially if he will not rev past 7600 rpm. He has to change rods, and maybe pistons any way !
                  IMHO 700ATW on streets and i dont mean highway, are overkill , there is no need !

                    700chp and 700whp are very different numbers
                    700chp can be reached with just a big turbo, a normal, but well done engine build, stock pistons, W/I and stronger rods.
                    Of course engine plumbing needs to be better (intake & exhaust), but it is possible to do that with off the shelf parts.

                      Exactly what i ment, no need for 700ATW, or almost 900 Crank. 700hp crank, for 10.000E (-/+ 20%) can be done . Thats only for engine parts and ECU !

                        I don't see how even that is useful actually...
                        Maybe in countries with big highways.

                        I am atm driving my 440PS "baby power" RS4, and I have no traction in 2nd on winter tyres (245/40) if there is even a tiny little bump or impurity in the road. Never mind 1st...

                        I think for a very fast car in the city, it is best to have something like S-Tronic TT-RS.

                          S-Tronic/DSG/PDK would be incredibly cool to have, they are worth their weight in gold for turbo cars, end especially ones with larger turbos, where tons of time is wasted between shifts (unless the car has some sort of FFS).
                          For a manual gearbox car that is very quick on the street and also highway, it is often better to focus on a fat torque/power curve rather than all out peak hp. Average whp through the powerband used is what counts, so in many cases a car with less peak hp but more torque/midrange could easily be quicker on the street, especially in 1-2-3rd gear where big turbos often don't achieve proper load.
                          That said, 700chp is becoming pretty common these days, it seems, but that might be due to some very optimistic DTLs applied by dyno operators. Interestingly, they are often not so quick on the street as one would think. I just got some very interesting test data on a 20vt that was rated at very close to 700chp. It is super fast at the very top of the rev range (6500rpm+), but not that fast in the midrange where much of the street driving happens.
