Rod question: Do 1.8T rods fit the AAN

or ABY or ADU, i.e. is the center to center wrist pin to big-end distance the same and the rod journal width the same?

Somebody has a line on some 1.8T Scat rods but wants to use them in his AAN. I am not familiar with anything on the 1.8T except the coilpacks and the BPV.

Actually they do fit. In early years the 1.8T AEB used the same PIN diameter as 2.2T 20V 20mm. Later they changed the PIN diameter to 19mm. The length should be the same 144mm.

Depends on which 1.8t they came with 19mm and 20mm wrist pins. 20mm being AGU BAM APY etc....If they are aftermarket with 20mm wrist pins then they are the same. The only issue you may have is the fact that as they were originally sold as a set of 4 and the 5th one is an add on it is not going to be correctly balanced as a set.
