Turbosmart Products - Query - to use or not ?

As a side extension to this very good / interesting thread.

What do people think of this Turbosmart e-boost2 controller. See the two u-tube links below ?

Is it something that should not be used at all on an S2, or does it need to be fiddled / set up with only on a rolling road ?

Can it be used on a chipped car to get a little bit more out of it ?

Is this any good to use to get a little bit more in a less complicated fashion ?

Australia's leading turbo performance brand since 1997. Shop wastegates, blow-off valves, boost controllers & fuel pressure regulators. Engineered to win.

Presumably a boost gouge and an Air Fuel Ratio gauge should be used to fiddle to get the best result with either ?

Is it superfluous if one has a custom map installed.

    Any comments either way welcome.

    Thanks.

Many people say their one of the best boost controllers available.

Ive not used one myself but know plenty of people that do on other vehicles with good results.

M2.3.2 has built in boost control, which is better than any of this nonsense.
Boost controllers have no place on these cars. Either go full standalone or full stock ecu.

The worst thing you can do is adjust boost randomly with a maxed out MAF without remapping the ECU.

Which is fine and well if you can map the standard ecu.

I agree it's not ideal but people have been using avcr's and similar for years with great results, I'd expect afr to be monitored though.

"AFR to be monitored"... every time I read this, I just laugh.
You can melt your engine and turbo with 11.5 AFR easily. Tuning is a bit more complicated than watching some numbers.
That is why I am saying, if you don't know what you are doing, then don't do it.
First read a book, understand why and what...

If you want to learn to tune, that's great. Invest the money into a standalone ECU so you have full control over the fueling, timing and boost.
