    gtx3576r over the gtx3076r

Been banging on about the gtx3076r being a dud turbo in the gtx range here's a nice article explaining why ( it is also the same reason rwd19t had to have his 3076r made into a hybrid on a stroker ) and why the 3576r is a better fit.

A specifications stat sheet article that looks at the Garrett GTX3576R Turbo by Honeywell with Billet Extended tip technology compressor wheel and housing

Heres is a nice article explaining comparisons of rival turbo companies products

An Analysis article comparing turbochargers from Borg Warner vs Honeywell Garrett vs Precision vs Turbonetics comp turbo on better Compressor Billet Technology

Forget about those cheaply build mass-productions. Go Holset!

It is a decent article 1st I've seen online it is also the reason I didn't go billet on the 3076r as was advised of the same issue on both billet gt and gtx without turbine wheel change

        stock 3076r is good though

That's why you go HTA3076, +5% and much better spool.

I remember researching the GT30R series, all those years ago, and how the GT3082R was also a mismatch between compressor and turbine sizes.
That is why I was concerned when I saw people with AET GT30Rs with the 0.70 A/R compressor housing, usually used with the 82mm wheel, but in that case used with the 76.

Actually, I also remember when I bought my GT3076R, there were a lot of fakes being sold at the time, using the older 7 blade T04 76mm compressor. So I would always be careful where you buy your turbo, and check that you have is what you think it is.

By the time your car is on the road Stu, that turbo will be going straight to a museum... surely it's been long enough for you to consider getting something a bit newer now? The GTX3576 looks like just the ticket

You know what, I've already thought that. A 3076 was rare when I first drew up my plans. I didn't plan for the project to take so long.

Hi, it sounds like you have experience with the HTA3076, did you map on a 5cyl 20VT, if so how did it work? Seems like a fast spooling ~550hp turbo.. Sorry for somewhat OT..

That's pretty much what it is.
Haven't mapped one with a HTA wheel yet, but a good friend of mine is getting a HTA3076 in the mail soon, so I will do in Spring.

I'm basically running a hta 82mm wheel machined into the 0.6a/r compressor housing of the 3076. Running a k26 0.82 hotside of some sort. Owen developments have fitted steel bearing races and a billet heatshield to it and called it a 3079.

We made 574ps through a stock back box and crushed downpipe at 1.7bar with a wagner evolution manifold and stock ported wastegate. I reckon with a better exhaust system and improved wastegate the turbo is capable of cracking the 600ps mark on my engine although for that little extra I don't think its worth the expenditure. If later in the year I decide I do want more I'd rather spend the money on another mani bigger turbo/wastegate and exhaust system and sell on what I have as I wont just want 600 i'd want closer to 700.

If I had to start from scratch now and didn't have exhaust manifold restricting turbo size on a stroker I would've home the 35 route. Unfortunately my circumstances were I needed a solution that retained the original size of the 3076 when my old one packed it in because of everything I already had.
