With the head machined to work with the water manifold 3B can reduce hot spots. An example is the S2 and RS2 and others using this system. I did this and I upgraded in my head 7A.

i dont know anyone, who did this in our country. This is the biggest problem with water manifold.I have no problem with send the head to someone, but i am scary that te head will be delivered and the shipment wasn´t be more expensive than the head improve (water manifold)
If i have a water manifold,than i use a 3B IM,but if i dont have i must think whats next.Audi Coupe Quattro 2.3 20VComment

I understand the theory but I question the practice when you have people tripling or quadrupling S2 power with no problems.
My last 7at made 180whp (~25% better than stock), and currently I know of a few over 200whp, with the 7a water manifold (and no intercooler!). If I had hotspots they were not an issue. I don't think "hotspots" will be an issue unless you are really going for a ton of power.
Another option could be drilling and tapping additional ports and replacing the whole upper hose.Comment

I have logs with IAT but I believe that the value to look at would be EGT. My last configuration was non-intercooled so IAT rose rapidly but over ~50,000 miles was never an issue.
I think all the 6 speed cars have different subframes.Comment
