Hmmm I don't know if any four pin VAG coil packs are long enough to work with a 7A cam cover. Most people who convert to a 7A cam cover run 034 HO or EFI Express LS2 coils and 7A style sparkplug wires. I look around my files for examples of coil packs. In the meantime, drool over this:

The 7A cover can be modified to take the coil packs with a little bit of milling, Pnanassy (RIP) did a few.
Unfortunately the pics from his thread are no longer there, maybe someone on here who bought one from him could post a pic of one.

I have machined my 7A cover to work with the new type RS4 coils. They dont need too much machining to fit.

I have 1.8t COPs with 7A cam cover. The COPs just needed some grinding. Didn't modified the cover.

I wonder if the red top 4.2L V8 coilpacks, which are slightly taller, would require much modification to fit. (Like the crinkle finish on the 7A cam cover BTW)

RS3 coils with a bit of modification to the coil worked nicely on 7A cover.

I trust everyone going with the 1.8t (or 2.0TFSI or 4.2L V8 or RS3, etc) coil packs realizes that the goal of the fitment is being able to push the coil pack down enough onto the hex part of the spark plug so the end of the spark plug can grip the top of the plug like a limpet on a rock. Just modifying the coil pack so it fits into the 7A cam cover might not be enough if the length of the coil pack is insufficient to come in contact with and grip the hex of the spark plug.
