Hi guys i went to start the car this morning and no joy it started yesterday i parked it up,then this morning nothing, plenty of power in the batt turns over ok but nothing checked spark ok fuel getting through ok the only thing iv noticed was this last 3 or 4 days there was a faint whistling noise coming from the engine it got louder when i was driving along sounded like wind through a tunnel but faint. any ideas what it could be.

Hi Jim.
I had a non-start problem recently. After new sparkplugs and injector refurb everything was fine. I suspect it might have just been flooded since I only had it running for 10secs the day before.

Can't help with the whistling, sorry.

Sorry guys forgot to mention it,s an AGA 2.4 v6 non turbo it,s the wifes car so she is now driving my S2

yeah had it all changed about 6000miles ago all vag parts.was wondering iff the whistling sound would be vacum hoses just looked and they look pretty shabby and cracked? it must be somthing simple as it was running fine yesterday apart from the whistling.

I would always do a visual to rule things out, but I hope it is something simple for you.

That whistling type noise sounds like gearbox issues not that it would have anything to do with it not starting
