3b coil pack connector required ???

Does anyone know there's the mating half available that will plug in the 3b harhess plug that would normally plug onto the coil ?

Reason is i'm doing a coil pack conversion and wanted to plug into the original loom for my power supply to the coils!

Can you provide the number of the female pin connector (and the number of pins) that is bringing power to the 3B coil. With that, we can likely find the companion male pin connector housing. Otherwise we could guess and be wrong.

You know you need to keep the 3B distributor for the Hall sender right? (Or switch to an ABY/AAN head)

20Vt Engine Bay 3 pin connector possibilities

No response so I am going to try guessing and see how close I can get.

It would appear that the coil power connector is a three pin, from this diagram:

From a 3B engine harness diagram that I found, there are a few possibilities. I can't really see the coil but it looks like it might be by Item 15:

From the above, the possibilities in my mind are

      Item 15 = 893906232
      Item 17 (or the like) = 443906233
Item 52 (probably the Hall Sender connector) = 443906236

All the above are the female version (all harness connectors are female pins, the devices to which they connect have male pins). So the trick is to try and find male pin connectors that match with them.

Items 15 and 52 above, show up as Items 10 and 13 in this diagram:

I can't find a male pin mate for those two. However, Item 17 from the first diagram, 443906233, is easy because it is very common in the 20Vt engine bay harness. For example, all the firewall connectors for the knock sensors, engine speed sensor, crank position sensor, etc as well as the AAN/ABY/ADU Hall sender connectors are 443906233. Its male counterpart is 443906247. In fact, 443906247 is the PN for the Item 24 OE coil power connector in this diagram:

      Here is the 443906233/247 pairing.

If the OE 3B coil power connector is not a 443906233, you might have to modify the 3B wiring to use the 443906233/247 pair.

iNo 10 is the plug i need to connect too, if the mating counter part isn't avialable then i may just remove it and fit my own male/female plugs. Thanks for the info. Ian

Got your PM. So it was Item 15 in the first diagram, i.e. 893906232. Unfortunately, *I* can't find a male pin connector match. Doesn't mean there isn't one. It just won't likely be sourced from Audi. Plan B might be the way forward. (All you really need is switched power for the primary side of the coil packs. On an AAN car, that is Bus No. 15 on the central connector station. Not sure what/where that will be on an B3.

          Beware the Hall sender issue.

Had a nother poke around. Not that it helps but the 893906232 female pin connector is also the coil connector for the S6plus V8 coils (two required). There *might* be AMP Junior Timer 3 male pin connector that will work. Try Eagleday

How are you handling the G40 Hall sender? Keeping the 3B distributor with its Hall sender? Or adding a bracket to the front of the 3B head and mounting the AAN/ABY/ADU Hall sender there OR replacing the 3B with an ABY head?

Lots of G40 Hall Sender info here (follow the hyperlinks too):

Is the cap or can available that clips onto the distributor ? I'll be keeping the original sensor for the time being.

Not a separate part from Audi. However, 034 has a cap that you can buy (or just use the 3B distributor cap without wires).
