    Holset HX40 - Super 40 specs

I got a new toy today (got the chance to get a new holset) and I have it apart and thought if anyone is interested in measurement or specs since it is easy now.

I was also playing with the thought to use an aftermarket center housing that is also water cooled. What do you think? Should I bother or not? Truth is till now I didn't had any issues running only on oil.

I know, they have them for a long time but they use it in very few vehicles and are expensive if you look for specific wheels.

Many suggest though that it is not necessary and I personally don't had any issues since Dec 2008 where I use Holsets only oil cooled. The question is since I have the housing should I bother?

I heard something like a HX50/40super hybrid would work really nice. HX50 MFS 67/98mm billet comp wheel and housing fitted to a 40 super center part with the 65/76mm turbine.

Nope same shaft diameter, hub height is around 2,5mm higher but turbine rotor should be okay in compensating that. Haven't tried the cover though, HX50 covers are smaller compared to HX52 so that might fit. They could be adjusted to use the giant snap ring if i look at the material.

Ok, interesting. What I heard, you need to do a custom/billet backplate for the compressor housing.
