JE piston advice please

After a year of saving I am now able to get the 82.5mm 8.5:1 pistons for this 7A block i have to replace the 3B one that is now a bit tired and not really up to the 420bhp aim.
Question ,
1. Has anyone used the JE pistons with the 'tuff skirt' coating?
2. What benefit is there in fitting a reduced comp ratio to standard as they all appear to come with this.
3. whats everyone using as a bore clearance with these, cheers..

Cannot believe no-one has used these tuff skirt pistons and been told to make the clearance slightly tighter than JE state too but not about to jump in without someones personal experience on both these points. Cheers

Been covered before, there is a big thread on JE pistons and the piston clearances.

On the Tuff Skirt dont use it, I was simple told you bore your block to the clearance of the pistons and what happens whn the coating wears off?, you get increased clearance.
