UrS4 oil pressure gauge into a UrS6 cluster?

    As the title says...

Is this possible ? Instead of a oil pressure gague I have a voltmeter or is it the clock ? And what´s up with that... I was woundering if anyone has done this before?

are they the same color when talking about the grey cluster (S4 and S6)

Was thinking of buying a oem oil pressure sender some cable and a gauge from a scrapyard. Then put the clock aside for the oilpressure gauge

Is this possible ? It sounds good in my mind

As Zoig suggests via the link to RS200's thread, you need a 200 20VT (or maybe just 200 10vT) gauge cluster and at least the grey faces from an UrS4 cluster, if not, the gauges themselves (which fit on a printed circuit board) (It's not three complete individual VDO gauges like I once built (actually 4 gauges - three was too easy) for my 86 Jetta Carat back in the day).

Thanks for the links, but it seems to be harder to change the clock for a oil pressure gauge then changing the whole setup from a S6 to S4 setup... hmm perhaps just changing the clock for a oilpressure gauge and then drill a hole to the backcover and use some wiring directly to the oilpressure sender is the easiest route. hopefully the that will work with light and such...

OK, here's what I did. I never was very fond of the unlabeled gauges favored by Audi so I switched to a similar looking set of Autometer gauges. I also have a set of much brighter LED idiot lights for oil pressure and water temperature.

            Hap:

That looks really good, but are the Autometer gauges the same color as the rest of the cluster? grey/white´ish Do you have any art. number or model name... used Autometer before in my jap and I was really pleased with them.

Those Autometers are white. I think they do a silver version as well. But no grey per se.

Basically what you need is to get the 200 Turbo aux gauges PCB and backplate, and S4 oli pressure dial, that's it. You need the wiring for the pressure sensor (1 wire to the cluster). I'm waiting for the red SMD LED bulbs to arrive, that should correct the colour difference between UrS4 and UrS6 dials. Cutting up the PCB and routing all the wiring seemed a bigger hassle than just geting the 200T aux gauges and rewiring few wires.

Basically youre saying that I have two options, option one is to take the 200 turbo gauges and and s4 oil pressure gauge and try rewiring (as the clock is not changeable with a oil pressure gauge) or just take the gauge panel from a S4 and plug it in... the only thing that you have to do on the second option is to buy a oil pressure sender and some wiring correct?

my english and electric is a lite off that why im double checking so I´ll get everything right.

The suggestion is find a 200 10Vt or 20VT instrument cluster and remove the three gauge panel/cluster from the motherboard. Now remove three gauges and replace them with the UrS6 oil temp gauge, a UrS4 oil pressure gauge and the UrS6 voltmeter. (in the correct order). Or just remove the 200T needles and gauge faces and install the UrS4 and UrS6 gauge faces (and then reinstall the needles). Install the modified 200T 3 gauge cluster in the instrument cluster. You need to revise the rainbow wiring slightly because the UrS6 has 6 wires (2 are for the clock) and the 200 T cluster only has 4. RS200 has posted the pin swap "map" previously.

You will also need an UrS4 oil pressure sender and some wiring to make the oil pressure gauge work.

Details on the sender are found here:

As the dials from a 200 wasen´t that easy to come by here in Sweden I believe the easiest way is to replace the clock in my S6 with a pressure gauge from a S4 (found a cheap cluster for 40£) and drag the wires outside the cluster. Otherwise it get more exspensive then Hap´s sulotion and that looks awsome.

Also if I use the 200 cluster the oil temp and pressure will switch places then the wiring will be wrong or what? And the extra cable from the pressure unit were do I put that in the cluster? Sorry for all stupid question but I really want to understand everything before I start tearing everything apart

The PCB is wired up correctly for the aux gauges so the wiring will be correct (provided that you correctly wire up the 4 input wires to the aux PCB), the pressure signal attaches to the same connector as the oli temp is right now.
