received my new waste gate, and installed it, yet now tial makes there new waste gates also water-cooled if you like, im wondering if it is necessary to run a water cooled system through it? what do you guys think

Yea, I'm going watercooling also. I have the old turbo water lines, but the holset don't have cooling so I'm putting it to the wastegate.

i completely forgot about the stock cooling from the turbo and how that could be used, good idea. did you use both in and out from the stock turbo cooling lines?

I didn't get the inlet hose made today, it's quite difficult to pander nicely a small hose with a big one without using a ton of different adapters. The block inlet is quite big, and I have to make a tiny special adapter to get the small hose from the WG to fit the block inlet. But yes I'm going to use them both.

I think our goals are quite similar.

Jamo, you mean the hose from turbo to block? Yeah, had that in mind, but the oem hose is a little bit knackered so I don't want to use it anymore. But it's propably the best thing to use if it's in good shape.

Propably overkill, but if you have it there why not use it? Sure the main reason for the watercooling is to protect the diaphragm from burning/melting.

good info guys, and like you stated if its there why not use it, im gonna try to put together the parts and make it work, but just making sure it wasnt a must on my car, and slow down my project.
Considering how close it is to the turbo, it might be beneficial for getting some use out of the after run pump, if the turbo is oil cooled only.
What I have understand the aftercooling is also for the head, not only for the turbo. But that would be good for the wg diaphragm when the airflow stops under the bonnet and the heat is rising.
One more thing about the Tial wastegate, the new model MV-R(44) that has the watercooling, V44 don't have it. When measured the the wastegate valve inlet it's only 40mm, it's 44mm at the flange but reduces to 40mm. It's quite much smaller than 44mm. Is the old V44 exact 44mm or is it also 40mm?
