    3B hesitation

My 3b has had this hesitation for some time now, and its driving me mad. 1st and 2nd gear pulls are faultless, up into 3rd and it judders also with the boost gauge flickering when it happens.*

Its pretty much a standard 3b, aby airbox, decats and Spink chips. After the chips i found out it had a gert big wastegate spring fitted so popped a standard one in,(possibly aby spring if that matters?) set it to 0.4 bar with wgfv disonnected.

All ignition parts are still fairly new*
Re-checked crank/dizzy timing yesterday - ok. Rotor arm looked like this though

    One side worn only??

    Also checked;
    Spark Plugs condition + torque
Swapped Maf and cleaned plug again
    Swapped WGFV and associated pipework
    wg diaphragm
    'Another' full inlet pressure test
Vac pipes inc. under back seat and 1 way valves
cleaned out isv and epoxyd back
Replaced split diverter valve with bosch item, backwards.
Coolant temp sensor on head ok
Air temp sensor resistance appears ok
    no fault codes.
Also tried backing off wg spring preload with no improvement.
Always 3rd gear or higher, near or @ WOT. Its not a violent cut but noticeable (intermittant) judder/hesitation if that makes any sense.

That rotor arm worries me a bit, should i expect to see a rod exit the block soon? Any suggestions or ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Ill add that the Crank / distributor timing marks were lined up by rotating the engine in the correct direction only by hand to take up any slack, and it appeared ok.

Currently using regular unleaded, no different using super.

I would change that rotor arm as it should be a cheap part to replace just to rule it out.

I had the same sort of problem with mine a wile back which a good clean of the rotor arm and contacts in the dizzy helped a lot also have you checked the gaps on the spark plugs. Mine were on the wide side and when I regaled them that made a big difference .
never set your expectations to high that way you are never disapointed

Is that the 10 or 11mm rotor arm? Looks wider.. I was told to use the small one, likte the one 034 sells..

I cleaned it all up and rubbed the rotor tip with wet n dry before it went back together. It was a wide one but i gave it a hair cut to narrow it down. Ill get an 034 one on order.*
What should the plugs be gapped to?

What can i do about the rotor wearing off centre like that? Turning the dizzy to align the rotor tip with #1 contact puts the hall sensor out of alignment no?

Also, replaced the alarm fuse last night after the fob button got stuck down a while ago, after that when i drove off it was hopeless, isv was doing nothing and no power. Happened once before after i replaced my ignition switch. So i fiddled with the speedo plugs and it was fine again, i hope thats all it was and not some other disturbed wiring, its like a rats nest under the dash

This evening i whipped the spark plugs out and number 5 was the odd one out, not sure what to make of it though?

Anyway, checked the gaps which were at 0.7 so brought them down to 0.6mm. Then i pulled the fuel rail off and swapped injectors 1 and 5 over, ill check plug #1 in a few days time see what its like.*

Replaced injector o-rings, washed the baskets out and refitted everything. Dont wanna speak to soon but a 20 mile drive home after the work and it was actually faultless in 3rd & 4th!*
                Denniselbows thanks for the pointer!!!
I feel a bit stupid now*

Plugs that my local factors supplied me were NGKr pfr7b?

Lost boost again though just once, dropped back to mechanical pressure i think. So thats next.
